Its January 12th. 12 days into a new year. 12 days away from 2008.
I have had several conversations with friends and basically the conclusion being the same....2008 was an horrible year. I must agree, I am glad to move forward, and let 2008 go. There were some good times and good memories made in 2008, but it was a year that tried me many personal ways. Lots of people were sick, lots of people passed away, a lot of people recieved bad news, lots of people found themselves in financial trouble. I know, everyone anticipates the economy and financial situation will continue to worsen, and I'm probably one of those people, but I've decided I'm going to have a better attitude and plan better for the anticipation of the worst. As many of you know, I'm re sitting for the LSAT exam the first weekend in February. Its bittersweet, I just want it to be over, and I'm excited about getting past this obstacle in my life, but I hate it all at the same time. For example, I should be reviewing problems and preparing for it, and here I sit, procrastinating, typing a blog that probably no one will read. ha.... Anyway, I'm taking 3 classes this semester. On Monday nights I'm taking America Presidency with Dr. Crew its mainly going to focus on the presidential election of 2008, which should be interesting, I mean we lived it. Its part of history. On Wednesday nights, I'm taking Urban and Regional Planning, which I anticipated translated sounds like nails on a chalkboard, but I was wrong. I think the class is going to be fairly decent. There are two teachers who are going to team teach it. The guy works in the private sector of development and the lady works in the public sector of development. We are going to talk about the airport and public library projects and then all the things taken into consideration when an area wants to development and grow. Also going to have a better understanding of all the limitations placed on development in our area, and the reasonings behind that. It could be worse, I'll survive, and probably even enjoy it a little. My Thursday night class though is really exciting, its Religion and Crime. Primary focus on Islamic Terrorism. The teacher is a former FBI agent who used to work over in the middle east. He is really interesting, and I think I'm gonna really enjoy that class. So thats it for now, still working full time, going to school 3 nights a week this spring and until Feb 7th I'll be studying for the LSAT.
In other news in my life, two of my good friends are getting married....actually 3 of my friends are getting married, but I'm only in two of the weddings. Kelly Etherton who I went to elementary school with is getting married June 5th to her fiance' Ryan in Oklahoma. I was really hoping I would be able to make it to the wedding, but I'm just not sure if I will be able to or not. We will see how things are when time gets closer. My old roommate and longtime friend Megan got engaged a few months ago to her boyfriend, Josh, and they are getting married in April (I think). Finally, Mallory and Chuck got engaged on Christmas day. They are set to get married Dec 19 of 2009 in Valdosta, GA. I'm really excited for all of them, and I wish them the best of luck!
Well, I guess I have put off studying long enough....
Until next time....
